Meenakshi Dixit Biography

Meenakshi Dixit is an Indian model, dancer and film actress. She has appeared in both south Indian films as well as Bollywood. She was the runner-up of Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan in the year 2008 and debut in lead role in the Malayalam movie, Alexander the Great, lead actor being Mohanlal. She played the role of Bismitha in this Malayalam movie. In 2009, she has done a bit role in Telugu movie – Lifestyle. She is popular as an item girl in Tamil and "Madurai Ponnu" song in Billa 2 was popular. She is to debut Bollywood with P Se PM Tak that’s scheduled to get released in March, 2014. This political satire is directed by Kundan Shah.


Meenakshi Dixit was born 12 October 1988 in Chandigarh as the daughter of Ishwar Chandra Dixit, a senior lawyer, and Geeta Dixit. Meenakshi was good in academic studies. She also trained in various dances like Classical, Folk, Contemporary dances, and Salsa. With an athletic body she was very active in sports too. She completed graduation before entering film industry. Her first screen appearance was as a contestant in Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan hosted by Saroj Khan, aired on NDTV Imagine. She entered film industry through a bit role in Telugu movie, Lifestyle followed by Malayalam movie, Alexander the great.


She is a successful model and has been featured in fashion magazines. She has also appeared in television commercials like Joyalukkas Jewelry, Microsoft Windows, Fair and Handsome cream, Chennai Silks, Shankaram diamond jewelry, Brook Bond Taaza tea, Radio Mirchi and ESSAR, and Anytime Fitness gym. Her item song in 2011 blockbuster Dookudu brought her to limelight and gave her more film offers.
