Matin Rey Tangu Biography

Matin Rey Tangu is a child actor from Hindi films. Matin made his Bollywood debut in Salman Khan starrer film in the year 2017. He made his first appearance on big screen through the war film, Tubelight released in 2017, where he portrayed the little friend of Salman of Chinese origin. The film opened to mixed reviews and was only moderate successful at box office. Zhu Zhu played the female lead role of Li Leing, Gu's mother in the film, the character of the little boy portrayed by Matin. The film which was made in the backdrop of Indo-Chinese war of 1962 earned him recognition among audience, though the movie was not a major success. Tangu was awarded the ‘Best actor male debutant’ for the movie ‘Tubelight’ by Zee Cine Awards last year.

Matin Rey Tangu hails from Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. Anupam Tangu and Monisha Karbak are his parents. He was born in the year 2009. He made his Bollywood debut through ‘Tubelight’ in 2017 at the age of 8. He played the role of a six-year old boy in the film, and got noticed for his debut work. Matin Rey Tangu was chosen from over 1000 kids for Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’ from the auditions. The filmmakers were looking forward to choose a wonderful child artiste who had the spunk and ability to withstand a 100-day shoot, and that’s how they zeroed at him.

For film’s promotion, Salman presented him before the crowd just four days before film’s release, and some reporters even misunderstood him to be a Chinese kid. The 8-year old child won over the media with his charm and intelligence. He won Zee Cine Awards ‘Best actor male debutant’ for the role and a nomination at Star Screen Awards for best child actor.
