Masumeh Makhija Biography

Masumeh Makhija is a Bollywood actress who played lead role in movies like Chupke se and Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav, though none proved successful. She appeared in supporting role in critically acclaimed Bollywood movie, Maqbool in 2003 and the role of Kaamna in the segment "High on the Highway" of anthology film, Dus Kahaniyaan. These two movies are her most noticed roles till now. She also played supporting roles in Woh lamhe and Saas Bahu Aur Sensex and has also appeared in one short film, The Journey in 2004.

 

Masumeh Makhija was born in a family related to Bollywood. Her grandfather Parananand was a pioneer of Indian film distribution overseas. Parananand's company PLA entertainment distributed quite a few Hindi films, which became huge successes at box office. Her mother Jayashree Makhija and uncle Gul Anand have produced many a few movies under the banner of PLA entertainment. Chashma Baddhoor and Khatta Meeta can be included in the list. In fact, her debut movie was directed by her sister Shona Urvasi. She also directed one movie, Saas Bahu Aur Sensex in 2008 in which Masumeh Makhija played an important character. She was also its producer and music director as well.

 

She is a distant relative of Bhat family as well. She is the niece of Manish Makhija, husband of famous actress Pooja Bhatt. Manish Makhija is known as a VJ, and Mumbai-based restaurateur. Masumeh Makhija has also appeared in the German movie, Gate to Heaven. Masumeh Makhija was born in Canada and her family moved to India when she was only one year old. She started her career as a child artist and later appeared in television commercials before making her film debut through Chupke se.
