Mohamed Mansoor Ali Khan was the son of Iftikhar Ali Khan born on 5 January 1941. He did his schooling at A.M.U Minto Circle School in Aligarh and Welham Boys' School in Dehradun. He made his Test debut playing against England in Delhi in December 1961 and later became one of the most successful cricketers and captain of Indian team. He played in 46 Test matches for India between 1961 and 1975. He scored 2,793 runs at a Test batting average of 34.91. It includes 6 centuries also.
