Manpreet Brar Biography

Manpreet Brar Walia is an Indian super model who became the runner-up of Miss Universe 1995, just one year after Sushmita Sen was crowned as winner in Miss Universe 1994. She is also the title holder of Miss India 1995, which enabled her to contest Miss Universe contest in Namibia. She was crowned Miss India Universe 1995 by none other than the title holder, Sushmita Sen. Soon after her return to India after winning Miss Universe peagant, Brar modeled an ethnic wardrobe designed by Ritu Kumar apart from doing several fashion shows. Though she has been a successful model, she didn’t take film world serious.

Manpreet was born in 1973 to a Sikh family in New Delhi. Her father was an army officer. She completed her graduation from Lady Irwin College, Delhi and later completed her Master’s in Human Resource Management. She was the college president during her final year at college. When she was crowned Miss India Universe 1995, expectations were very huge in Indian fashion industry as well as among Indians, as it was just one year ago Sushmita Sen brought the crown of Miss Universe first time to India. She too gave up to expectations as she could finish at no.2 position at Miss Universe contest, held at Namibia. She was 22 year old then. Her interview score was really stunning and it was at position one. Miss Universe title was won by Miss USA Chelsi Smith.  

She got married in 2001. Now she is in business; a hair care product of a company based in Germany, she started in Jaipur and her own business venture on health and fitness in Delhi. She had a short stint in television anchoring on ZEE TV.
