Manan Vohra Biography

Manan Vohra is an Indian cricketer who played for India Under 19 cricket team. He is a right handed batsman and right arm medium bowler. He was born on 18th July 1993 in Chandigarh in India.

 

Manan’s father’s name is Sanjeev Vohra and he was inspired by his grandfather, Y.P. Singh who was the former hockey player. He is at present serving as the General Secretary of Chandigarh Hockey Association. Manan was confused at his earlier age whether to take up the game of hockey or cricket and he chose cricket as was encouraged by his grandfather.

 

He completed his schooling from Guru Nanak Public School, Hansraj Public School and Bhavan Vidyalaya at Chandigarh. He is a great fan of Sachin Tendulkar. He was coached by Harminder Singh in the beginning and found his way into the U13 Indian Squad for Sharjah Cup in the year 2004. Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh coaches him at present.

 

He played for Punjab team in U16, U19 and U22 categories. He also played for Dayanand Anglo Vedic College team and India U19 team. He led the Punjab U19 team that won the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. In 2011, he became the part of the 30 best U 19 players of India. His remarkable achievements in the Quadrangular Series held at Vishakhapatnam gave him more opportunities. He is a part of Kings XI Punjab team that plays IPL 2013.
