Malavika Nair (child Actress) Biography

Malavika Nair is a very popular child artist associated with Malayalam Film Industry. Now she has moved to adult roles, and she played the lead role of Rima Mansoor in 2012 film, Oomakkuyil Padumbol, which earned her state award for best child actress. She also bagged Kerala Film Critics’ Awards for the same role. The movie marked her success debut as a lead actress and Nilambur Aisha also played a pivot role in this movie. She was given the first break to films by director Kamal through 2006 highly acclaimed film – Karutha Pakshikal, where she played the blind daughter of Mammootty. Her role earned her first state award for best child artist at the age of 7.

She was born in 1999. She started her acting career through television serials and also appeared in devotional music videos. She also appeared in numerous TV ads and is a household name among Kerala audience.  Karutha Pakshikal marked her film debut. Her pivot role as a blind girl earned her critics’ appreciation, apart from state award. Later she was seen in child artist role in movies such as   Yes Your Honour, Vaadhyar, Oomakkuyil Padumbol, Ithra Mathram, Maya Bazar, Penpattanam, Orkkuka Vallappozhum, The Reporter, Shikkar, Naughty Professor, Kandahar etc.

She was born and brought up in Thrissur. Setu and Suchitra are her parents and she has an elder brother, Nikhil. She schooled at Vivekodayam Higher Secondary School. Some of the TV serials in which she acted include - Devi Mahathmyam, Srikrishna Lila, Krishna Kripa Sagaram and Sri Guruvayur Appan, and she was mostly associated with mythological shows as a child artist. Her role as a simple girl who was forcefully transferred to a posh school against her wishes in Oomakkuyil Padumbol earned her second state award.
