Mahira Khan Biography

Mahira Khan is a successful film and television actress and video jockey who is to debut Bollywood with the movie – Raees in 2016. She is to play the lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in this crime-drama film directed by Rahul Dholakia. One of the much anticipated movies of the year, the movie is already in big news. Mahira started her career as a TV host, later moved to actress roles and finally to big screen and now to Bollywood. Mahira gained huge popularity through the television series – Humsafar, where she played female lead opposite Fawad Khan.

 

Her full name is Mahira Hafeez Khan, born on 21 December 1984. She began her career in the year 2000 as a VJ when she was 16 years old. Most Wanted on MTV Pakistan was her first show on small screen. It was followed by Weekends with Mahira on Aag TV. In 2011, she made her debut as an actress both on small screen as well silver screen. Bol directed by Shoaib Mansoor marked her film debut while she was seen as an actress for the series, Neeyat, where she portrayed the lead role of Aalia. Since then she acted in several television serials – Humsafar, Shehr-e-Zaat, Sadqay Tumhare etc. She also hosted many television shows and live programs.

 

The series – Humsafar in 2011 was her big break to acting career. She played the female protagonist opposite Fawad Khan in this series, which was loved by Indians as well. Very soon she received film offers from Bollywood too. Though she wants to become a part of Bollywood, she loves to accept good and powerful script and challenging roles. In 2015, she played female lead in Pakistani film, Bin Roye, which was praised by the critics. Pakistani film - Ho Mann Jahaan and Bollywood film – Raees are scheduled to release in 2016.
