Mahesh Bhupathi Biography 
Mahesh Bhupathi is an Indian tennis player who is participating in international matches. He is the first player from India to win a Grand Slam title. He was born on 7th June 1974 in Chennai. His full name is Mahesh Srinivas Bhupathi.
His father is C. G. Krishna Bhupathi. His mother tongue is Telugu His father was his first coach during his childhood days. He got his education in Dubai, Muscat and United States. He studied at the University of Mississippi in United States.
He married Shwetha Jaishankar on 24th November 2002. But the marriage broke off after seven years in 2009 and he remarried Lara Dutta who got Miss Universe title in 2000 on 16th February 2011. The marriage ceremony took place as per the Christian rituals on 20th February 2011 in Goa. They are expecting a baby in January 2012.
He has won eleven Grand Slam titles and has won the Indian Championship in 1994 and 1995. He is serving as the member of the Indian Davis Cup team from the year 1995. He has won the Australian Open Mixed Doubles in the year 2006 and he is a member of the group of tennis players who have achieved a Career Mixed Doubles Grand Slam.
He was suffering from back pain and this worsened and he had to make a surgery for that. He is instrumental in developing the facilities for tennis in India. He also has contributed a lot for the career development of the Indian athletes like Sania Mirza.
He was playing with Leander in the doubles matches. He won the US Open mixed doubles with Ali Sugiyama in 1995. He had good relationship with Leader Paes but later this broke off. They played together in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing but had to quit with quarter finals. He received Padma Shri award from the Government of India in 2001 and Karmaveer Puraskaar Award.
