Mahavatar Babaji Biography 
Mahavatar Babaji is a holy saint regarded as both ageless and eternally young. He is adoringly addressed by various names, such as Mahamuni, Tryambaka Baba, Shiva Baba, and Badua Baba. His speech was generally in Hindi, but he converses easily in any language. He adopted the simple name of Babaji. This spiritual guru is regarded as ageless as he always appeared around 25 years, and no wrinkles or marks on his body to notify his age. He was given the name Mahavatar Babaji by Lahiri Mahasaya, who accounted his life between 1861 and 1935. His autobiography has been authored by several authors and has accounted different information regarding his childhood and adulthood.
According to the book, ‘Babaji and the 18 Siddha Kriya Yoga tradition’ by Marshall Govindan, Nagarajan was his real name and he was born to V.T. Neelakantan and S.A.A. Ramaiah. In the famous book, ‘Autobiography of a yogi’ written by Paramahansa Yogananda, there are many references about Babaji. According to his book, his father was a temple priest. He was kidnapped and sold as a slave to Kolkata at the age of 5. But a kind man rescued him and he joined a group of wandering monks. Thus he came close to Hindu epics, Upanishads and Vedas.
As he was known in different names and has met many spiritual people at different places, the authenticated works have recorded their encounters and their discussions have reached a conclusion that they have met a single person, though known by different names. His first reported encounter with Mahavatar Babaji was in 1861. Babaji's mission was to assist prophets in carrying out their special dispensations. Babaji is ever in communion with Christ and there is no historical reference to Babaji. This great guru has never openly appeared in any century and he worked in a humble obscurity. 2002 Tamil film Baba of Rajinikanth was based on Babaji, though the movie was a disaster.
