Labh Janjua Biography

Labh Janjua is a Punjabi singer and lyricist. He has sung a few Bollywood songs in Punjabi style too. Jee karda of Singh is Kingh is most popular among his Hindi hits as a playback singer. He is best known for his bhangra song, "Mundian To Bach Ke", which has been remixed and re-released later. His released Punjabi albums are Raatan Toon Lambe Khat, Beyond Belief, Bair Bura Hunda Jatt Da, Labh Janjua - The King, Beware Of The Boys and Labh Janjua Live in two volumes. "Glastonbury" with Jay-Z in 2008 and "Mundian To Bach Ke" produced by Punjabi MC in 1998/2002 are his successful collaborations.

He entered Bollywood in the year 2003. As a playback singer, his Bollywood hits are "Jee Karda" and "Talli Hua" in Singh Is Kinng, "Baari barsi" in Band Baaja Baaraat, “Hikknal” and "Mahi Mennu" in Dev.D, "Ik rupiya" in Krazzy 4 , "O Yara Dhol Bajake" in Dhol, "Soni De Nakhre" in Partner, "Man Moniye" in Dil Dosti etc, "Mera Yaar Sharabi" in Labh Janjua Funmusic, “Chori chori” in Garam masala and "Pyaar Karke" in Pyaar Ke Side Effects.

At present, he is arguably the biggest international Punjabi singing sensation. He was introduced to the world with the international release, ‘Mundian To Bach Ke’ by remixed version of Punjabi MC and the Kray Twinz a few years after its original release. He was a little frustrated that time that audiences didn’t recognize that Panjabi MC is actually the producer, and not the singer of this hit number. His latest album features production by Scorpio from Death Row, Tigerstyle, Big Suga Kane, and Desi Texan. He has been active in the music world for more than 15 years till now.

Janjua was found dead at his residence in Bangur Nagar, GoregaonMumbai on 22 October 2015.
