Kunal Khemu Biography

Kunal Khemu is a Bollywood actor who has been successful as a child artist also. As a child artist his most memorable roles are Raja Hindustani, Zakhm, Dushman, Hum hai rahi pyar ke and Sir. As a hero, Kalyug is considered as his best performance. Kalyug in 2005 was his comeback movie as adult too. His roles in the movies Golmaal 3, Taffic signal and Go Goa Gone have played significant part in the success of these movies. Now he is committed relationship with actress Soha Ali Khan, daughter of Sharmila Tagore and sister of Saif Ali Khan. He is 4 years younger than her.

Kunal Khemu’s parents are yesterday actors - Ravi and Jyoti Khemu. He was born in Jammu Kashmir. His acting career started with Doordarshan serial ‘Gul gulshan gulfam’ in 1987. His debut movie as child artist was Sir where Nasuruddeen Shah played the lead role. He has become a part of Aamir Khan’s huge successful movies – Hum hain rahi pyar ke and Raja Hindustani. In Hum hain rahi pyar ke, Kunal Khemu played the role of one boy among the kids of Aamir Khan’s elder brother. In Raja Hindustani, he got much more meaty role. He did the role of Aamir Khan’s assistant in the movie. His name was Rajnikanth. In Zakhm, he played the child role of Ajay Devgan as Pooja Bhatt’s son. Ajay Devgan won his first best actor National award for this movie. Kunal Khemu’s role as a child artist and Nagarguna’s son was well appreciated. In Sunil Shetty’s successful movie Bhai, he did the role of younger brother of Sunil who dies at the climax.

His first movie as hero showed good signs in the industry. He played the leading role as ‘Kunal Kher’ in the critically well acclaimed movie Kalyug. Both his performance and songs were well appreciated. Other movies of his career include Dhol of Priyadarshan (remake of Malayalam blockbuster In Harihar nagar), Super star, Jai Veeru, Doondthe rah jaoge, 99 (opposite Soha Ali Khan), Blood money, Golmaal 3 and Go Goa gone.  His movie ‘Bhag Johny’ is under production and will be released this year or so.
