Krishna Bhagavaan Biography

Krishna Bhagavaan is a noted comedian and character artist associated with Telugu cinema. He has also played lead hero roles. Papa Rao Chowdhary is his birth name. He has acted in more than 250 films and he is also known as a writer. Apart from being a successful comedian he has also played lead hero roles in John Appa Rao 40 Plus, Donga Sachinollu, Mr. Girisham, Andhra Andagadu, and Bommana Brothers Chandana Sisters. He has also acted in television serials, and most recently played a key role in the Telugu big budget movie - Rudhramadevi. Harikatha and Shivam are his upcoming flicks where he plays the male lead.

Papa Rao Chowdhary was born in Kaikavolu, a small village in the East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. His childhood days were spent in Kaikavolu, where he completed his school education. He went to Kakinada for his higher education. Though he dreamt to do master’s in commerce, he couldn’t fulfill his dream and his mind got diverted towards acting, which later proved the right move. He had a passion to acting since childhood and has participated in school plays.

With the dream to join movies, he moved to Chennai and attended an audition for the movie directed by Kranti Kumar. Though he managed to get through, the movie got shelved following the producer’s death. Vamsy’s Maharshi marked his acting debut. He shared screen space with Maharshi Raghava and Nishanti for this movie, noted for its compositions. After playing a few more supporting roles on big screen, his role as Babji in the television serial Vasantha Kokila was the turning point of his career which earned him Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Award. The success of the movies - Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru! and Kabaddi Kabaddi made him a successful comedian and very soon he rose to prominence as a successful actor who can excel in any type of roles – both lead roles and supporting.
