Kishori Shahane Biography

Kishori Shahane is a Marathi film actress and classical dancer. Hindi filmmaker Deepak Balraj Vij is her husband. Kishori is also a film producer. She is a former college beauty who has been crowned Miss Mithabai, while studying at college. In 2003, she became "Mrs. Gladrags" Beauty Pageant Runner up. She is a well established stage actress and her most significant works are Moruchi Mauchi (Marathi) and Aadhe Adhure (Hindi). Both these plays were directed by Amal Allana. She has appeared in Marathi blockbusters like Ek Daav Dhobi Pachad and Navra Majha Navsacha and Bollywood movies like Pyar mein twist and Red: The dark side.

Kishori Shahane was Miss Mithabai while studying at college. Very soon, she entered Marathi films and became a popular actress with the movies, Maherchi Sadi and Wajva Re Wajva. She played supporting actress roles. Her success as a stage actress made her a complete and well established actress very soon. She later appeared in a few Bollywood movies in supporting roles and very soon, her talent was noticed by Hindi filmmaker, Deepak Balraj Vij whom she married later. They, together did a couple of Hindi movies like Hafta Band and Bomb Blast. During the shooting of the movie, Hafta Bandh in 1991, they fell in love and married soon. Later Kishori concentrated on Hindi serials.

A few of her television serials include - Ghar Ek Mandir, Kohi Apna Sa, Kabhie To Nazar Milao, Aise Karo Naa Vidaa, Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, Pradhanmantri, Waqt Batayega Kaun Apna Kaun Paraya, Sindoor Tere Naam Ka and Do Dil Ek Jaan. She has also acted in a few plays, in Hindi as well as Marathi. Aadhe Adhure and Benny And Babloo are her Hindi plays and Moruchi Maushi, Durga Jhali Gauri and Mi Tujhya Pathishi Ahe, a few in Marathi.
