Kiku Sharda Biography

Kiku Sharda is a standup comedian and television actor, who shot to fame playing the cross-dresser Palak on ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ aired on Colors. He is also a character artist associated with Bollywood since early 2000s. Constable Mulayam Singh Gulgule in F.I.R. and Amarnath Bhandari in the horror comedy show Bhootwala Serial are other noted television roles. He has earlier appeared in female characters in Comedy With Circus. Happy New Year, No Problem, Love Khichdi, Dasvidaniya, Race, No Smoking, Darna mana hai, Dhamaal and Phir Hera Pheri are his memorable film roles and he mostly handles comic roles. In January 2016, he gained nationwide attention for mimicking the spiritual leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in his show and got arrested as well.

 

He was born in Jodhpur on February 14, 1975. Raghvendra is his real name and he is married and has two kids. He got noticed for the first time playing the character role of Constable Mulayam Singh Gulgule in the most popular investigation series – FIR, aired on Sony television. The money was coming in, and enough to run his family. He never hunted for work and was happy with the way life was going on. He regularly appeared in television serials and also a few Bollywood movies. Then ‘Palak’ just happened.

 

He had earlier worked with Kapil before on Comedy Circus and shares a good chemistry with him. When he was approached for the show - Comedy Nights With Kapil’, he just watched a few episodes of the show which has just started gaining popularity. He appeared on the show after 12 episodes and initially had no clue if he was to portray male or female character. Sunil Grover’s Gutthi had just started and he joined the team as ‘Palak’ which became an instant hit.
