Kavita Kapoor Biography

Kavita Kapoor is a well-known celebrity associated with Hindi film and television industry. She is a noted actress known for playing supporting roles. As a television actress, she gained recognition through the popular comedy show, Yes Boss – aired on SAB TV during the period, 1999 – 2009. She played the lead role of Meera Srivastava in the series. She was later replaced by Sonia Kapoor when this Sab TV show had returned after the World Cup break with a makeover. But following the dropping TRPs, the channel was forced to bring her back to the show. She shared an excellent chemistry with Delnaaz Irani for the show.

Kavita Kapoor has also played different roles in the television shows such as Justujoo, Sumit Sambhal Lega, Saans, Rakt Sambandh, Just Mohabbat,Pyaar Ka Bandhan, Kittie Party, Aashirwad etc. She made her acting debut through the Bollywood film, Jeena Teri Gali Mein in 1991, where she played the female protagonist. She was paired with Suraj in this film. The movie also starred Amita Nangia, Archana Puran Singh and Kunika in pivot roles. The movie was average at box office and its songs were chartbusters. However Kavita didn’t get any promising film role later and she moved towards television.

She started her TV journey in the mid-1990s. She appeared in Sony series, Just Mohabbat in 1996, where she portrayed the character Maya. She played the role of Manisha in Star Plus’s popular drama Saans (1998) which earned her praises. However it was her lead role as Meera Shrivastav in 1999 comedy series, Yes Boss which made her popular. Her role as Prabha in Rakt Sambandh was also well-received. In 2005 she acted in Bollywood film, Salaam Namaste directed by Siddharth Anand.
