Kanishtha Dhankar Biography

Kanishtha Dhankar is a model and Panthaloon’s Miss India 2011. She later represented India in Miss World 2011 where she finished among the top 30 at the contest. In 2008, she appeared in Madhur Bhandarkar's film Fashion as a model doing ramp walk. She has shot for high fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle, Grazia, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, cosmopolitan and many more. She has also appeared as cover girl of many leading fashion magazines.

Kanishtha Dhankar was born on 21 September 1988 in Mumbai as the second daughter of Raj Singh Dhankar, a Commodore in the Indian Navy, and Kusum Dhankar. Kanishtha has two sisters also. Her mother is a school teacher. Originally they belong to Haryana. But due to her father’s job, they stayed at Mumbai. After schooling she pursued BA in H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. Very soon she started modelling at the last year at her college and has also visited New York as a part of her job. She walked the runway at the Mercedes Benz fashion week spring summer 2013. She has walked the ramp for many Indian designers like Manish Arora, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Tarun Tahiliani.

She has also done the biggest fashion weeks in the country including Lakme Fashion week, Wills India fashion week and Couture week. She appeared as cover girl in many leading fashion magazines and has also done photo shoot as well. She won Prestigious Miss India Title in the year 2011 where she won Pantaloons Femina Miss Body Beautiful, Femina Miss No Marks, Femina Miss Ramp Model, Veet Femina Miss Beautiful Legs and Femina Miss Water Baby titles also. She represented India in Miss World contest at London, United Kingdom. Though she was not able to reach the top, she managed to finish in the top 30 list.
