Kamal G Biography

Kamal G is an upcoming film director and producer associated with Tamil cinema. He also works as editor for Tamil movies. After a couple of Tamil movies – Vu and Onnume Puriyala as editor, he financed and directed his first venture – Yoogan in 2015, a horror thriller which starred the debutants – Yashmith and Sakshi Agarwal. He also edited the movie. But the movie received bad response from critics and was a failure at box office.

Kamal G was born on 22 July 1989 in Kovilpatti, Tamil Nadu. He completed Enginneering and later Media studies from Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics, before plunging into the world of cinema. Beginning as an editor for a couple of movies, he made his directorial debut in 2015 with the horror flick – Yoogan. The movie has three songs in three distinct patterns. The story revolves around the problems that happen in an IT company, pivot roles played by the newcomers - Yashmith and Sakshi Agarwal and four other important characters. The roles were portrayed by Pradeep, Shyam, Sidhu and Arun.

He avoided using visual effects and relied on real make-up for his actors to keep the look as authentic as possible. The film was shot by 4K camcorder. It was his fourth film as an editor. Before Yoogan, he has done Vu and Onnume Puriyala. Ravi Arumugam debuts this movie as an independent cinematographer. Sakshi has done a brilliant role as a family girl and a ghost for the movie. The director kept the details of the movie under cover till its release. However the movie was not scary in critics’ opinion and was a box office failure.
