K C Bokadia Biography

K C Bokadia is a director of Bollywood cinema since 1980’s. He is most popular for movies like Pyar jhukta nahi, Janta Ki Adalat, Aaj ka Arjun, Phool bane angarey, Teri meherbaaniyan and Mera Sajna Saath Nibhana. He is one among the directors of 80’s and 90’s with whom Big B has worked for maximum movies in leading role. Movies which K.C.Bokadia and Amitabh Bachchan worked together include - Aaj ka arjun and Lal badshah. Aaj Ka Arjun with Jaya Prada as the leading lady was a hit while Lal Bashah opposite Manisha Koirala and Shipa Shetta was a disaster at box office. Amitabh was even criticized for acting with heroines who are comparatively much younger than him. Yet, his record with Mitun Chakravarthy is still considered the best. The movie ‘Pyar jhukta nahin’ starring Mithun and Padmini Kolhapure in the leading roles is one among the most memorable movies directed by K.C.Bokadia. The movie was noted for its super hit music too.

As a director, K C Bokadia has also worked with Rajnikanth, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Raj Babbar, Mithun Chakravarthy, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Leading ladies like Madhuri Dixit, Rekha, Dimple Kapadia and Jaya Prada have worked in many of his movies. Rekha won a Filmfare for her women oriented role in the movie Phool bane angarey in the year 1990. As a producer too, many of his movies were quite successful at box office. Phool bane angarey, Pyar Jhukta nahi, Teri meherbaaniyaan and Aaj ki Arjun can be included in the list. He has also produced the movie Rivaaj in 1972, with Sanjeev Kumar, Mala Sinha and Farida Jalal in the leading roles.

In 2002, the much lagged project Hum tumhare hai sanam was released. This movie was lagged almost 8 years and looked very old once it was released. The music was composed by different music directors too. This is the rarest movie where the top actors of Bollywood – Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aiswarya Rai and Maduri Dixit worked together for a single movie. But this multiple star cast couldn’t help the movie from sinking. He worked as presentation producer for 2010 release, Khuda Kasam.
