K. T. Rama Rao is an Indian politician representing Telangana Rashtra Samithi. At present he is the MLA of Siricilla Assembly Constituency, representing the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He got elected from Siricilla Constituency. He is the elder son of veteran politician, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, a Member of 15th Lok Sabha. His younger sister K. Kavitha is a political activist and Lok Sabha candidate from Nizamabad constituency. She is known for Telangana agitations and social and cultural activities for good causes. His cousin Harish Rao is Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Siddipet constituency and an influential leader of Telangana movement. He is fondly called KTR by his followers and he is one of the well-educated, young and promising politicians of today.
K. T. Rama Rao was born in Siddipet in the year 1976 as the son of influential leader and founder of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao. He completed graduation in Microbiology from Nizam College and took Master’s in Biotechnology from University of Pune He also completed MBA in Marketing & E-commerce from City University of New York. He briefly worked as the project manager at INTTRA Inc before his return to India. He moved to India in 2004 as Regional Sales Director for South Asia.
Since he returned to India, he started taking interest in party affairs. In 2006, he decided to dedicate his full time for Telangana Rashtra Samithi and pioneering the cause of statehood for Telangana region. Thus he quit his job to join politics full time. He has truly become the face of Telangana movement at National Level and fondly called ‘Young Tiger of Telangana’. His role in discussing this serious issue in national level has played a significant role in the solution of Telangana.
