K. N. Nehru Biography

K. N. Nehru is a politician from Tamil Nadu, who has served as state transport minister. As a prominent politician he has been elected thrice to the state assembly. He won twice from Lalgudi constituency and once from Tiruchy II constituency. He has been accused of illegal sand quarrying and earning big benefits from it. He was also arrested on 25 August 2011 for acquiring a piece of land from a doctor. In 2011, he lost both Assembly elections and bi-election. Currently he resides in Trichy. He is a member of DMK party who currently serves as the Tiruchi district secretary of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. In 2012, his younger brother K.N. Ramajeyam was abducted and brutally murdered. He was into granite export and other businesses.

He was born in Neikulam in 1952. His school education was finished from his native village itself. Noted film actor Napolean is his nephew. This actor is too associated with DMK Party and won state assembly elections in 2001. As a prominent leader of DMK, he currently serves as the Tiruchi district secretary of the party. Elected to the Tamil Nadu assembly three times, he got opportunity once to serve in Karunanidhi’s cabinet. During his tenure, he ruled out the possibilities to recruit lady staff in transport bus driver and conductor posts.

This leader is known for corruption during his tenure and has been arrested once. He illegally held 13,920 square feet land originally owned by a doctor and for the same reason got arrested on 25 August 2011. Doctor’s family was allegedly threatened there by Mr. Nehru and his brothers too. Later he was released.
