Jyothi Krishna Biography

Jyothi Krishna is a Tamil film hero, screenwriter and director. He made his directorial debut through 2003 bilingual south Indian film - Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (Tamil) and Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu (Telugu), aside a set of young actors, Tarun, Trisha Krishnan, Shriya Saran, Reemma Sen. This youth oriented movie was a musical hit with Rahman’s music. Jyothi Krishna is the brother of actor Ravi Krishna, with whom he made his second movie – Kedi in 2006. This movie marked the Kollywood debut of the female artists Ileana and Tamannaah Bhatia, who played female leads in this movie. Ooh La LaLa(2012) was his third directorial venture through which Jyothi Krishna made his acting debut. He played lead role opposite Preethi Bhandari in this romantic comedy entertainer. The movie received negative response from critics as well as audience and was declared a flop.

Jyothi Krishna is the son of famous film producer, A. M. Rathnam known for making expensive Tamil and Telugu movies like Indian and Bheema. Jyothi’s directorial ventures are produced by his father himself. His brother is a successful south Indian actor Ravi Krishna. He assisted his father in the scriptwriting of Natpukkaga in 1998 when he was only 17. He wrote the story of ‘SnehamKosam’ with Chiranjeevi in the lead role and was also involved in the story making of hit Tamil movie, Padayappa (1999) starring Rajinikanth. In 2003, he made his directorial debut with a set of young actors. The movie was Enakku 20 Unakku 18.

Actor turned director Jyothi Krishna is to tie the knot with Aishwarya from Hyderabad who is a post-graduate in Bio-technology. They have already got engaged.
