Justin Jose Biography

Justin Jose is an Indian Sound Engineer and Sound Mixer from Thrissur, Kerala who works in all south Indian languages apart from Bollywood. In 2016, he has been announced as the winner of Best Audiography (Re-recordist of the Final Mixed Track) at National Film Awards 2015. He won this achievement for the Bollywood film, Bajirao Mastani. Justin has been in the limelight since the making of the magnum opus Baahubali: The beginning. He led the team to do the sound mixing work of the movie and the whole work was conducted at Future Works, Mumbai and took a whopping 750 hours, setting a new record. Justin’s latest work is Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift, the highest grosser among Indian movies 2016. Azhar – is his upcoming flick. He has already released its teaser.

 

Justin was born in Thrissur in 1980. After completing graduation in Economics from St.Thomas College, Thrissur he studied diploma in Audio Recording from Chetana Sound Studio, Thrissur where he learnt till 4th grade of electronic keyboard from Trinity College of Music, London. After that he moved to Mumbai in 2003 and worked as an assistant to Deepan Chatterjee for two years. In 2005 he became premix engineer, and as an independent sound engineer he marked his debut with Bollywood films in the year 2008.

 

Some of his noted Bollywood works as a sound engineer and Re-recording Mixer are Airlift, Kanche, Tamasha, Bajirao Mastani, Bombay Velvet, Madras Café, Roy, Barkhaa, Sonali Cable, Inkaar, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Happy New Year, Bang Bang, English Vinglish, ABCD: Any Body Can Dance, Nautanki Saala! etc. Njan Steve Lopez, Cinema Company, Second Show etc are among Malayalam works. He has also worked for a few English to Indian dubbed movies.
