Juggy D Biography

Juggy D is a British Indian singer from Southall, London. His real name is Jagwinder Singh Dhaliwal and he became an established Punjabi singer with the instant hit of Asian Underground scene, a contemporary R&B-Bhangra fusion. It was featured in the top 20 UK chartbusters too. Apart from this project, titled Rishi Rich Project, his association with Rishi Rich and Jay Sean has delivered many R&B-Bhangra fusion hits which became popular in India as well as UK and several countries. "Dance with You (Nachna Tere Naal)” released in 2003, was the debut single by the Rishi Rich Project. The song reached #12 on the UK Singles Charts and #2 on the Dutch Top 40. It also won "Best Single R&B" at the 2003 UK Asian Music Awards. For the first solo album of Rishi, Simply Rich, "Nahin Jeena" featuring Don D and Juggy D was also a hit single. He is one of the first singers to experiment with Bhangraton.

 

Jagwinder Singh Dhaliwal was born on November 19, 1981 in Southall, London, UK. He started performing since the age of 14. His association with Jay Sean and Rishi Rich provided him good platform to enter the world of Punjabi pop. He has appeared in many crossover singles with musicians such as Madonna, Ricky Martin, Mary J. Blige and Craig David. He collaborated with Veronica Mehta and Rishi Rich for the Bollywood movie, Hum Tum for one song. He, with Veronica Mehta with Jay Sean made a guest appearance in Bollywood movie, Kya kool hai hum.

 

Juggy D's debut album, Juggy D, was released in 2004. This album was the first Punjabi language album to enter the UK national charts. One of its songs was featured in Bollywood movie, Shukriya: Till Death Do Us Apart. Juggy D 2: Punjabi Rockstar (2011) and Juggy D 2: English Khana (2013) are his next two releases.
