John Paul Puthusery Biography 
John Paul Puthusery is a noted screenplay writer of Malayalam movies and a guest lecturer. He is most known for his successful association with actor Bharath Gopi and has been instrumental in bringing him to limelight. Many of his scripts have been written for Gopi since early 1980’s. He has also written scripts for several Mammootty hits in the 1980’s. Revathikkoru Pavakkutty, Aalolam, Marmaram, Ormakkai, Rachana, Aarorumariyathe, Kaattathe Kilikoodu and Sandhya Mayangum Neram are his noted scripts for Bharath Gopi. He was most active in the era of 1980’. As a screenwriter he has received many awards include Film critics’ award.
Most of his screenplays have given many classic movies to Malayalam and critically acclaimed too. As a popular story teller of Malayalam, his noted screenplays include –Thenum VayambumSaagaram shantham, Ithiripoove Chuvannapoove, Palangal, Ina, Athirathram, Iniyum Kadha Thudarum, Mizhineerppoovukal, Yatra, Inakili, Kathodu kathoram, Unnikale Oru Kadha Parayam, Ee Lokam Ivide Kure Manushyar, Revathikkoru Pavakkutty, Chamaram, Kadhayariyathe, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Keli, Malootty, Purappadu, Soorya Gayathri, Ariyaatha Veethikal, Chamayam, Nammal Thammil, Onnanu nammal, Aarorumariyathe, Ormakkai and Sandhya Mayangum Neram are among his noted screenplays.
He is also known by the name John Paul. He was born in 1950. He was a freelancer journalist during his early career and was also a familiar face in film circles. In 1972 he started his career as a bank employee with Canara bank. But when he became busy in writing in the 1980’s he quit the job to fully concentrate on to his work. Through his powerful scripts he brought the versatile actor Bharath Gopi to limelight. John Paul was the founder general secretary for film association, MACTA.
