Jaggesh Biography

Jaggesh is an actor, politician and a director of Kannada cinema. He is better known as a comedian in films. Banda Nana Ganda, Rani Maharani, Mata, Eddelu Manjunatha, Super Nan Maga and Tharle Nan Maga are noted film roles. He has a huge fan following and is popularly known by the name, Navarasa Nayaka. He debut film industry doing bit roles during 1980’s and through the movie, Banda Nanna Ganda he became a popular actor. He played lead role in this movie and the movie was produced by his brother in law N. Srinivas. He is a politician also and belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party. Earlier he has been associated with National Congress Party. Now he is the Member of Legislative Council and holds the cabinet rank as the vice-chairman of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.

During middle 1980’s, he became an assistant director to K. V. Raju. Then he struggled to get minor roles in the movies and after the lead role in Banda Nanna Ganda, he didn’t look back. The movie was one of the top hits of the year. Before this project, he received a good role in the movie, "Tharle nana Maga” directed by Upendra. But due to some reasons the movie got shelved and got released only after the success of Banda Nanna Ganda. These two movies changed the fate of Jaggesh and he became one of the established actors of the industry very soon.

Jaggesh was born as Eeshware Gowda in 1963 to Shivalingappa and Nanjamma. He has 4 siblings of whom Komal is a noted actor. His brother in law N. Srinivas is a noted producer. Jaggesh married Parimala and has two children - Guru Raj is a script writer while Yathi Raj is a well established child artiste.
