Ishwar Pandey Biography

Ishwar Pandey is a member Indian Cricket team who is a right-arm medium-fast bowler and right handed batsman. He has played for India A Team and has been selected to both One-day Internationals and test matches for the New Zealand tour of 2014. He was included in the squad soon after his impressive performance in unofficial tests played against South Africa in August 2013 while playing for India A team.

 

In domestic cricket, he plays for Madhya Pradesh and a member of IPL team, Pune Warriors India. He was the leading wicket-taker of the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy. As on December 2013, he has taken 131 wickets from 31 first class matches and scored a total of 296 runs. He has also played 6 T20 matches and got 6 wickets. Ishwar was born in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh as the son of a retired army officer on 15 August 1989. He was not at all in the game of cricket till class 12. He walked casually into a selection trial for the Rewa divisional team with a few friends. He got selected as a bowler for MP Under-19 team. He received training from MRF Pace Academy in Chennai.

 

He made his first class debut in the year 2010 November where he played for Madhya Pradesh against Goa. After that he had an amazing record at Ranji trophy for the next three seasons. His performance of 4/46 and 3/25 in the first unofficial test at Rustenburg against South Africa A gave him entry card to international cricket. The team made an innings victory. In the second test too, he repeated his performance by taking 3/67 and 1/16, thus becoming the highest wicket-taker of the series. His 6’2’’ height is one of the positives for his bowling performance.
