Ishita Dutta Biography

Ishita Dutta is a Bollywood and television actress, who gained attention in the recent times, playing Ajay Devgan’s adopted daughter in the crime thriller – Drishyam (2015), which was a box office hit. She reprised the role played by Ansiba Hassan in the original Malayalam movie, with the same name released two years earlier. Ishita Dutta is the younger sister of Bollywood actress and Miss India 2005 -Tanushree Dutta, who appeared in movies like Aashiq banaya aapne, Raqeeb, Chocolate etc. As a television actress, Ishita is best known for her role in the TV serial Ek Ghar Banaunga.

Ishita was born and brought up in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand to a conservative Bengali Hindu family. After schooling at hometown she completed Media Studies in Mumbai. Ishita Dutta started her acting career in 2012 with a south Indian film. Telugu film - Chanakyudu, opposite Tanish was her debut movie. Yenidu Manasali was an announced project by Niyaaz Ahmed, in which Ishita was to work with her sister. However the movie got shelved. Very soon she got her first television role - Ek Ghar Banaunga, where she played the female lead. Premiered on 29 April 2013, the soap made its final show on 7 June 2014. She was paired with Rahul Sharma for the show aired on Star Plus.

In 2015, she made her debut to Kannada movies as well as Bollywood. Raja Rajendra marked her Kannada debut, where she played a supporting role. She worked with director Pon Kumar and producer Uday Mehta for the movie, where she had to learn the south Indian language a little bit. She worked with Ajay Devgan, Tabu and Shreya Sharan for her debut Bollywood film – Drishyam.
