Iris Maity Biography

Iris Maity is a beautiful and well established Indian model and also known as an actress. She has participated in the first season of Bigg Boss Bangla, Bengali-language version of the reality TV programme Bigg Boss hosted by Mithun Chakraborty. She made her Bollywood debut through 2010 mystery film, Soch Lo, where she acted aside Sartaj Singh Pannu, Barkha Madan and Bhupinder Singh. She played the role of Riva in her debut movie. She has also appeared in Tutiya Dil as Anuradha. She appeared in television series, Hum Ne Li Hai... Shapath as Officer Lara. Iris has been a ramp model of leading fashion designers like Manish Malhotra and Varun Behl and has also appeared in many print campaigns for popular Indian brands.

She is born to former football player, Bhaskar Maity who has played Asian games for India. She has one younger brother. Maity holds a graduation degree apart from Master’s in Business Administration. She is a trained dancer and also owns passions of painting and singing. She received big break to modelling industry when she was crowned ‘Get Gorgeous 2008’ at Channel [V]'s model hunt reality show. Pia Trivedi was placed second. Throughout the competition, she marked a complete transition from a pretty girl next door to supermodel. She also received Rs. 1 million contract with Channel [V] and ICE Model Management as the prize.

Her next major win was Miss India Tourism Metropolitan 2007. In the first Miss India Universe pageant, I AM She 2010 she was the winner of the subtitle, "I AM Photogenic". After that she went on to become one of the most successful models of the country.
