Iravati Harshe Biography

Iravati Harshe is an actress and dubbing artist associated with television and cinema. She played supporting and character roles in many Bollywood movies. She entered television in the 1990s. Shanti telecasted on Doordarshan in 1994 was her first noted television appearance. She appeared in Bollywood in the early 2000s and Hey ram released in 2000 was one of her noted appearances. She recently appeared in Hate story, Mittal V/S Mittal, Raat Gayi Baat Gayi?, Shaararat, We are family etc. She played the role of the doctor in Kajol starrer We are family.

 

Dill Mill Gayye, Split Wide Open, Kabhie Kabhie, Sanjivani, Tanha, Mrityudand, Achank 37 Saal Baad, Shanti etc are her noted television appearances. She was in Sanjivani as Dr. Smirti. In K.Street Pali Hill she played the role of Aditya's wife. ‘Nidhi’ in Shanti and ‘Rukhsana’ in Tanha are among others. Rukhsana in Tanha is her most favourite television role up-to-date. She dubbed for Madhuri Dixit for French version of popular romantic hit of Yash Chopra – Dil to pagal hai.  She often does dubbing for many foreign language movies to Hindi. She is married to pilot Capt. Rohit Mayadev and the couple has two daughters – Devika and Isha. Though a married and mother of two, she is busy with her professional life as an actress.

 

A lesser-known fact about Irawati is that she is interested in writing. She has penned a few plays while at college. She expects to write a story or film script in the distant future. Surprisingly, theatre has never been an option for Irawati. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer also though gave up that profession long back in 1996.
