Known for his extremely talented dancing skills, this handsome hunk is also nicknamed as the ‘Greek God of Bollywood’. He is a very talented actor as well. He is the son of famous filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and nephew of music director, Rajesh Roshan.

Hrithik Roshan was born on 10 January 1974 in Mumbai into a family with strong filmy background. He belongs to the third generation of film celebrities from his family. He is the grandson of famous music director of yesterdays, Roshan who composed some wonderful songs of movie – Taj Mahal. His father Rakesh Roshan remained a hero of 1970s and 1980s before he moved to direction field. Popular film maker of 1970s, J. Om Prakash was his maternal grandfather. Hrithik was married to Sussanne Khan, daughter of yesterday star Sanjay Khan and sister of actor Zayed Khan. The couple got married in 2001 a few months after his film debut, and ended their 14-year old relationship in 2014. They have 2 sons from this marriage.

Hrithik Roshan had a brief stint in films as a child actor in the 1980s. He was seen aside his father in many of his home productions and also acted in Bhagavan Dada, his most noticed role as a child actor. Hrithik is the best example for overcoming certain setbacks of life with amazing will power. He was born with an extra thumb on his right hand, and for the same reason he got isolated from his friends. When he became a great star, he certified as his lucky thumb and decided not to operate it. He also suffered with stammering during his younger days, and didn’t own any 6 abs before his film entry. Through his tremendous success, he set examples for many to follow.

As an adult actor, his father launched him through Kaho Na Pyar Hai aside Ameesha Patel which became a blockbuster. Whole India went crazy over Hrithik Roshan in the early 2000s. He is the only actor to win Filmfare award for best actor and best debut and he won both the awards for Kaho Na Pyar Hai. But after the super success of Kaho Na Pyar Hai, his movies fell one after the other at box office. His movies like Fiza and Mission Kashmir were appreciated by critics, but they couldn’t win it big at box office. It was followed by a string of flops or average movies like Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Yadein and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. The only authenticated hit film in between was the multi-starrer Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum.

The media which once praised him for his success tagged him as ‘Finished!’ But Hrithik rewrote everything. He has always fought against all odds, and it happened this time too. In 2004 his father gave him another performance oriented film through Koi Mil Gaya, which earned him both best actor award and critics’ choice award. It was his second film after Kaho Na Pyar Hai, which earned him two awards for acting skills. There was no turning back after that. Apart from a few setbacks in his professional and personal life, he remains one of the most celebrated stars Indian cinema has ever witnessed. After Rajesh Khanna, Hrithik Roshan surely deserves the tag of the most popular actor of Indian silver screen with huge fan following crowd.

As an actor, his super hit films such as Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Dhoom 2 and Jodha Akbar earned him Filmfare award for best actor. He has been nominated 11 times in the best actor category and he won it 4 times. Krish, Krish 2, Zindagi Na Milega Dobara, Agneepath, Bang Bang and Kaabil are other major hits of his career. The actor has always chosen to do one movie in one or two years since the success of Koi Mil Gaya, and he has succeeded most times except Kites, Guzaarish and Mohenjo Daro. In the past few years, Hrithik’s career has been going through yet another low phase, and he returned in a bang with his 2017 release, Kaabil.
