Hiraan Chatterjee, also pronounced as Hiran Chatterjee is a Bengali actor for Howrah. His Nickname is Papai. He resides at Behala. His first role as leading character was in the 2007 Bengali movie “Nabab Nandini”, directed by Haranath Chakraborty. This single movie gained him popularity as a young hero and became a popular face in the top league of Tollyville. Later his successful roles in “Bhalobasa Bhalobasa” and “Chirosaathi” earned him the chocolate hero tag. Yet he proved his versatility as a talented actor through his well appreciated roles in “Jackpot” and “Risk”. He released a music video album named "Bindaass" which marked his singing debut. His wife also sang and acted with him in its music videos. He is the story and screenwriter of the movie, Dashami, directed by Suman Moitra.

He was born on 19 December 1982 in Uluberia, a sub-divisional town of Howrah where he spent his childhood days. He was born in a poor family and lost both his parents at a younger age. But he was a brilliant student during his school days. While schooling at Uluberia, he lived in Maniktala Ashrom in Kolkata for his survival. Later he joined a shipping company to earn a living and attended the evening classes at Rabindra Bharati University for his English Honours. Later he moved to Mumbai to join the Reliance Industries. Later he worked in different firms and quit his job as Senior Manager to join film industry. Acting has been his passion since childhood.

2007 Bengali movie “Nabab Nandini” marked his debut where he was paired opposite Koel Mallick. He gained attention and went on to become one of the top rated actors of the industry. He received ost Promising Actor’ Award from BFJA for "Bhalobasa Bhalobasa". "Le Halua Le", his latest release is a commercial hit. He is actively involved with the NGO group called "Voice of World".
