Harman Baweja Biography

Harman Baweja is an Indian actor who has debuted Bollywood with Love 2050 opposite Priyanka Chopra in the year 2008. He is most popularly known for his striking similarity with Hrithik Roshan and his mannerisms. Among his movies, ‘What’s your Rashee?’ opposite Priyanka Chopra was noted most. Most recently he has changed his name to Harman S Baweja, ‘S’ is the first letter of his grandfather’s name. He changed it according to his belief in numerology to try his luck. He has worked in only 3 movies till now – Love 2050, What’s your rashee? and Victory. Yet he is a popular face and has fans all around. Priyanka Chopra was his heroine in his first two movies while he was paired opposite Amrita Rao in the third movie.

Harman Baweja was born in a Sikh Punjabi family as the son of Bollywood art director Harry Baweja and film producer Pammi Baweja. His debut in Bollywood was done with great promotion. Many people even compared him with superstar Hritik Roshan as his mannerisms and looks go well with this superstar. In the movie Love 2050 also, Harman Baweja tried to imitate the style of Hritik. Instead of getting applause it turned to be the biggest drawback to him. The movie was not well received despite being highly hyped as the fictional story of world after 2050. Though the idea was fresh and he was casted opposite successful actress Priyanka Chopra, it couldn’t help him from sinking in Bollywood. But he was able to win best actor debut award at Filmfare.

For the second movie, What’s your rashee?, he really worked out. It didn’t appear anywhere that he is the soft copy of Hritik Roshan. The movie was directed by Lagaan fame director Ashutosh Gowarikar. Thus expectations were also high. The movie was the story of an NRI boy in search of his bride. As time allotted was short, he decides to see a girl belonging to each rashee. Priyanka Chopra played all the 12 roles and had an upper hand over him. Audience couldn’t digest the fresh theme of the movie and whole credits went to Priyanka only as she did her 12 roles in 12 styles and mannerisms perfectly. Only the songs were noted.  

Now he works on the remake of Telugu movie Bommarillu (Tamil remake is Santhosh Subramaniyam). The movie is named It’s my life and directed by Anees Bazmee.
