Harish Uthaman Biography

Harish Uthaman is an actor who appears in south Indian films and known for portraying negative roles. He made his début portraying the lead role in Thaa (2010) and made his mark as a villain in Gouravam, Pandiya Naadu and Meagamann. Sreemanthudu and VIP 2 are his upcoming flicks. His debut movie, Thaa (2010) earned him Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards for Best Newcomer. He made a brief appearance in 2013 Malayalam movie - Mumbai Police.

Harish was born in Chennai in 1982. He has worked in airlines for nearly six years and an advertising company in Chennai for a brief period before he bagged his first film. He was offered the lead role of Thaa in 2010 by Suriya Prabhakaran. He made a lot of preparations for his debut role, like growing his beard for five months and darkening his skin by applying oil and sitting before the sun for long hours. However the movie received mixed response from critics. But Harish managed to win Best Newcomer Award at the Tamil Film Festival held at Norway.

After a break, he returned once again to big screen through the bilingual ‘Gouravam’, produced by Prakash Raj under the banner of Duet Movies. Gouravam opened to Mixed Response from the critics. Yet he made his mark as a villain through this movie. It was Pandiya Naadu, released the same year which earned him critics’ appreciation for his performance. He became quite popular among the audience too. Since then he has appeared on screen as a villain several times.  Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka, Thani Oruvan, Pandaga Chesko, Srimanthudu, Yatchan and Srimanthudu are his releases of 2015 and now he is a busy star.
