Hamsa Nandini Biography

Hamsa Nandini is a successful model and actress who works in south Indian movies. Her early movies were credited by her real name, Poonam Bartake and it was film director Vamsy rechristened her Hamsa Nandini. He did so, as there were so many heroines in Indian film industry named Poonam. After appearing in numerous south Indian movies as an item girl, she has signed for the role of Princess Madanika in the upcoming bilingual movie, Rudhramadevi directed by Gunasekhar. The movie also stars Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Madhumitha and Ravi Teja in a very special cameo appearance.



Hamsa Nandini was born and brought up in Pune, Maharashtra. Later to pursue a career in modelling and film industry, she moved to Mumbai. She started her modelling career while studying in class 11. She completed graduation in commerce and has pursued post-graduation in HR. She made her big screen debut in 2004 with the Telugu movie, Okatavudaam followed by 786. In 2006, she got opportunity to work in a Bollywood film – Corporate which starred Bipasha Basu and Kay Kay Menon in lead roles. In 2007, she got her major role of her film career. The movie was Anumanaspadam directed by Vamsi, in which Hamsa Nandini played lead role opposite Aryan Rajesh. With this movie, Vamsi rechristened her name as Hamsa Nandini.



Then followed a series of Telugu movies like Adhineta, Pravarakhyudu and Aha Naa Pellantain which she appeared in supporting roles. She also appeared in Eaga - Telugu romantic fantasy film. Then she started appearing in item songs and cameo appearances till she got the project, Rudhramadevi. Tea Samosa Biscuit is her yet another upcoming project. Hamsa lost her mother to cancer a couple of years back and now her father is her best friend.
