Gowdar Mallikarjunappa Siddeswara Biography 
Gowdar Mallikarjunappa Siddeswara, shortly called G.M. Siddeshwara is an Indian politician belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party. He currently serves as a parliamentarian and cabinet minister of 16th Lok sabha. He represents Davangere constituency of Karnataka and currently serves as the incumbent Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation of India. He has been elected to the Lok sabha in the previous two general elections as well, thus serving the third successive term. He has also been rated the 14th best MP in the country by PRS India in the previous Lok sabha. He also served as the National Parliamentary Party Treasurer of the BJP from 2004-2014.
He was born on 5 July 1952 in Chitradurga, Karnataka to prominent politician and parliamentarian of two terms - G. Mallikarjunappa. G M Siddeshwara, hailing from the most powerful Lingayat community, is a three-term Lok Sabha member. In the 16th Lok sabha elections he defeated S S Mallikarjun of Congress by a margin of 17,607 votes from Davanagere constituency. Gowdar has held many senior party positions, not only in state politics but also at National level. He is also a businessman who currently serves as the Chairman and Advisor for the G M Group, which includes companies in Laboratories, Software, Technology, Sugars, Hotel business and Farm.
He is active in politics for more than 2 terms and served as the Vice-President of the Karnataka for a couple of years – 2009 and 2010 and served as the Member, Committee on Water Resources during the same period. He also served as the National Parliamentary Party Treasurer for one decade since 2004.
