Gayathri Venkitagiri Biography

Gayathri Venkitagiri, also known by the names - Gayathri Iyer and Urmila Gayathri is a model from Kerala and actress of south Indian film industry. Apart from Tamil, Kannada and Telugu movies, she has also appeared in Bengali films. She entered commercial Cinema with Vinod Prabhakar's "Tyson" in 2015. The model-turned-actress started her career with the Tamil film Ninaivil Nindraval. Later she made a mark of herself through Telugu, Bengali and Kannada language movies. She has mostly done character and supporting roles.

She was born in Kochi, Kerala. Yet her childhood days were spent in Mysore, Karnataka. For the same reason she loves Kannada language. She started off with modelling. She debut Sandalwood with Shravana opposite Vijay Raghavendra. Namo Bhootatma was her second film and Ouija – the bilingual horror movie, was her third release. Directed by Rajkumar, the movie had Bharat as hero, and co-stared Madhuri Itagi and Shraddha Das. She worked with Bharat once again in 2015 for the Telugu movie Aata - Supernatural horror film produced by Vikram Raju. She has been paired with Jagapathi Babu in 6 and teamed up with Shivaji for Gola Gola. In fact the actress has done 4 movies in horror genre. She is also interested in horror movies and personally owns a huge collection of horror films.

This actress practises scenes of other heroines in front of the mirror and often inspires with them while doing roles onscreen – admits the actress. The actress loved Chemistry during her school days and later fashion attracted her. Then she entered modelling and straight into film field.  She had a short stint in modelling in Mumbai.
