Farah Naaz Biography

Farah Naaz is an Indian Bollywood actress who succeeded during 1980’s. Her younger sister Tabu is also a successful actress of present times. Versatile actress Shabana Azmi is her aunt. She has been successfully paired with actors like Rajesh Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt during 1980’s and she is most popular for her fresh and innocent looks. She has also worked with Aamir Khan in two movies. Also in most cases, she was presented as a glamorous girl. Her best movies include Imaandaar, Naqab, Woh phir aayegi, Begunaah and Baap numberi beta dus numberi.  

 

Farah Naaz was born in a Muslim family of Hyderabad. She got a big break to Bollywood, as she was casted by Yash Chopra for his movie ‘Faasla’ in 1985. The movie had Sunil Dutt and Rekha in the leading roles and Farah and Rohan Kapoor (Mahendra Kapoor’s son) in the supporting role. But the movie was a disaster at the box office. Her short role was noted by many big directors and very soon, she got an offer to work in Shakthi Samanta’s (Of Aradhana and An Evening in Paris fame) Paley Khan. Paley Khan was set in the British reign in India and she played the role of a British princess. She worked along with Jackie Shroff and Poonam Dillon in this movie. Movies opposite Rishi Kappr – Hamara Haandaan and Naseeb apna apna placed her as a successful heroine of Bollywood.

 

In Marte Dum Tak, she was paired opposite Govinda. Raj Kumar played the leading role in this movie. Love 86 needs special mention. This movie included an assembled star cast of Tanuja, Neelam, Govinda, Farah and Rohan Kapoor.  Farah played role opposite Rohan Kapoor. In Baap Ek Numbari Beta Dus Numbari, she was paired opposite Jackie Shroff, who have together done Paley Khan before. During 90’s she was paired with Aamir Khan in two movies – Ise ka naam Zindagi and Jawani Zindabad. Her other hit movies as leading heroine include Ghar ghar ki kahani, Muquabla, Imaandar, Rakhwala, Hamara Khandaan and Beguna. Gradually she switched on to character roles in movies like Hulchul, Muquabla and Dharthiputra. She got married to actor Vindu Dara Singh, but got divorced later.
