Faraaz Kazi Biography

Faraaz Kazi is a young Indian writer from Mumbai best known for his debut work - Truly Madly Deeply, a novel published by the Cedar Books imprint of Pustak Mahal. This promising young writer is often called 'Nicholas Sparks of India' by book lovers. His debut work was re-published in 2012 and it remains the only Indian book in the Top 100 YA Global Fiction list. His second released book is The Other Side, co-authored with Vivek Banerjee and the book was released in 2013. It’s the first ever published book which had an animated cover. YCOF National Excellence Award in Creative Writing, Goodreads Choice Readers Award for Best Debut (Romance) and National Debut Youth Fiction Award (2013) are the major awards received for his debut work.

 

He was born in Mumbai on November 10, 1987 as a single child to his parents. He holds Master’s degree in three different subjects. His debut novel was inspired from his own short story he wrote for a national competition for a newspaper. He won a prize for that short story and 6 years later an idea strike in his mind that his short story has enough potential to be developed into a novel. He changed its surroundings, kept the idea the same and added a few more flavours to appeal the readers and it was hugely received by critics and readers as well. This romantic work also won numerous awards including national award for best debut fiction writer.

 

His second book was a thriller, The Other Side published in 2013. He is the co-author of this work. His debut book changed his life forever and currently he is one of the most successful young Indian writers.
