Elango Nagarajah Biography

Elango Nagarajah, also known as "Thaimann Elango” is a Tamil film actor from Canada who plays lead roles. He is also known as a director, producer and lyricist in the Tamil film industry. He started his film journey as a producer with 2000 year movie – Anbudan, and later moved to acting, direction and lyrics writing fields as well. With 2014 movie, Azhagiya Pandipuram he became a part of Indian Tamil film industry where he played his first hero role also. The movie also marked the career beginning of Tamil actress Anjena. He has contributed lyrics to numerous Canadian Tamil movies.

An artist of Canadian origin, he is associated with Tamil language films in different roles. He marked his beginning as a film producer. His 2000 year movie Anbudan starred Arun Vijaykumar, Rambha and Meena in the lead roles. The movie was made and released in India itself. Charlie, Dhamu and Vaiyapuri also played pivot roles in the movie. However the movie was a commercial failure. He co-produced the film with K. R. Senthil kumar and S. Arunachalam.

His second venture was a Tamil musical album – Nesikkiren (2005), where he carried away the roles of director, actor and lyricist. Love and Patriotism were the main themes of this album. He also penned lyrics of 6 songs, composed by S. V. Varman and Raveen. He also acted in the album songs, directed by himself. He later associated with music composers A. Senthuran and M. Vakeesan for his works.

In 2009 he made his debut as a director and actor for the Canadian Tamil film, Enn Chellamae. In 2014, he made his Indian film debut through Azhagiya Pandipuram. The movie included an ensemble cast of Anjena, and many character artists of Indian Tamil films including Manobala, M. S. Bhaskar, Sriman, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam etc.
