Drashti Dhami Biography

Drashti Dhami is an Indian television actress, most popularly known as ‘Madhubala of Television’. She gained instant recognition playing the lead role of Madhubala in Madhubala – Ek Ishq EkJ unoon. The show was aired for the first time in 2012 and still continuous its success saga. She has been successful paired with Vivian Dsena and they together won Best Couple awards for the year 2013 at Colors Golden Petal Awards and Indian Telly awards.



In 2011, she along with Gurmeet Choudhary won Most Celebrated Jodi on Televisionfor ‘Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi’ at Zee Gold Awards. The amazing pair won many nominations for their successful pairing as well. They briefly dated for a while, but got split. In 2013, she won the reality dance show, Jhalak dikhlaja aside Salman Yusuff Khan. She is a successful TV anchor and television host too and has anchored several television award functions as well. Most recently in April 2014, her engagement with NRI businessman Neeraj Khemka was called off.



She was born in Mumbai in 1985. Drashti Dhami belongs to a Gujarati conservative family. She has one brother who is married to actress Suhasi Dhami of Yahaan Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli fame. Drashti started her career as a model and appeared in some television ads and music videos. She appeared in the music video of remixed version of Saiyya Dil Mein Aana Re, which gave her instant fame. Nachle Soniye Tu and Teri Meri Nazar Ki Dori are her popular Punjabi videos.



Her debut serial was Dill Mill Gayye. She became popular through the serials - Geet- Hui Sabse Parayi and Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, where she played female protagonist. She has served as a brand ambassador for Hindustan Tin Works Ltd in support of ‘Save Our Planet’.
