Diya (actress) Biography

Diya is an Indian film actress who appeared in Tamil language films. She appeared in notable productions including Dreams alongside Dhanush.Kurumbu fame actress Diya, has been in the modeling field before she came into the kollywood film industry. She has done many advertisements ranging from innerwear to hot drinks product.She became popular in the ‘old secret’ cola advertisement, so that she was appointed the brand ambassador of the concern.

When the ‘Old Secret’ concern decided to step up their advertising campaign through cinema, they found that Diya now had chance to act in the film's and advertised through the movie Dreams, starring Dhanush and Diya. As Diya is the brand ambassador of the concern, she easily brought financial help from the concern when the Dreams director needed money.

Though Dreams didn’t go well for Diya, she continues her influence with the Old Secret concern so as to provide financial support for the film, Karka Kasadara.

The news of Diya doubling up as a financier has spread into the film industry as wild fire, such that many directors are standing in a queue to book Diya as their heroine and avail themselves the financing offer.

The actress was married in 2006 and subsequently opted out of the several projects she had committed to, including Seven, Sooravali and Century Raagam and thus ended her acting career.She married software engineer Aravind.
