Divya Parameshwaran is a model and film actress of Tamil cinema. She debut big screen with the period film, Ponnar Shankar released in 2011, in which she played the love interest of Ponnar played by Prashanth. She received positive response from critics for her work and the movie was a commercial hit too. This movie was adapted from M. Karunanidhi’s novel of the same name. She still continues to work as a model for television ads. She was the first runner up in the beauty pageant Miss India Worldwide India 2008, next to Shagun Sarabhai.

Divya Parameshwaran was born in Bangalore on July 27, 1987. She graduated from the Sri Kumaran Children's Home, Bangalore and also took engineering degree at the B.M.S. College of Engineering. After graduation she took modelling as her full-time profession. She has worked with many leading Indian brands, has appeared in many television ads and has also done ramp walks for many leading fashion designers of the country. In Miss India Worldwide India contest held at Gurgaon in 2008 she stood second.

She gained instant recognition after doing photo shots for saree brand, Kalamandir. People started searching about this model who she is. In 2010, through a national poll, she was recognized as India's most recognizable face on television. After that she received many endorsements and among her popular ads includes - Dove, Rin, Hamamand Kohinoor condom. Her successful modelling career paved way to big screen debut as well. She was selected for the audition of Tamil epic movie, Ponnar Shankar in 2010 and the movie was released one year later.
