Dinesh Karthik Biography 
Dinesh Karthik is an Indian cricketer. He was born on 1st June 1985 in Madras. He is a wicket keeper and right handed batsman. His joined the Indian cricket team in the year 2004. He made his first class debut in the year 2002 when he was just 17 years old. He played for India in the 2004 Under 19 World Cup.
He started to play cricket when he was just ten years old. As his father Krishna Kumar was working in Kuwait he had to spend two years of his childhood days there. His father was his first coach who was a first division cricketer from Chennai. In the interstate matches in early 1999 when he played for Under 14 team, he scored 78 and 26 runs in two matches. He was then promoted to Under 16 team. He started to play for Under 19 team in 2000-01 seasons when he was just 15 years old.
His first class debut was in 2002 against Baroda as a wicket keeper. He scored 37 runs. His Test debut was on 3rd November 2004 against Australia. His ODI debut was on 5th September 2004 against England. In 2008/2010 IPL he played for Delhi Daredevils and in 2011 IPL he played for Kings XI Punjab.
After his ODI debut, he played in the match in 2004 ICC Champions Trophy against Kenya and took three catches. Then he was replaced by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In his Test debut, he got 14 runs and two catches in two innings but his wicket keeping was received with great appreciation. He also played for two Test home series against South Africa. He got only one run in the first test in Kanpur and in the second test in Calcutta he scored 46 runs.
He was dropped from the team for sometimes and later was called again after Yuvaraj Singh was affected with knee injury in 2006. He established himself as a regular opening batsman in the mid 2007 Test series in England and scored 76 runs and 51 runs in the two tour matches. He was selected for the inaugural World Twenty20 in South Africa in September 2007. He also took place in the dance reality show Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina with Nigaar Khan.
