Dhyan Sreenivasan is an upcoming Malayalam actor who made his film debut in lead role in the year 2013 with the blockbuster thriller – Thira, the movie which marked the comeback of renowned artist Shobana. The movie was directed by none other than his elder brother Vineeth Sreenivasan. Dhyan is the second son of genius scriptwriter, actor and filmmaker of Malayalam cinema, Sreenivasan. He received Asianet Best Male debut award for his performance in Thira.

Dhyan was born in Koothuparamba, Kannur as the second son of actor Sreenivasan and Vimala. He is an Engineering drop out who joined a visual communication course as cinema is his real passion. He just wanted to be a part of films. Dhyan has worked as an assistant director with his uncle M. Mohanan for the Malayalam film '916' before his acting debut. He studied cinematography and editing for a while as he thought that he is best behind camera. He shot a shot film and acted also, as a part of his studies. It was his only acting experience. Later his brother noticed the shot film in his laptop and that’s how he decided to give lead role of his next movie to his brother.

He was successfully launched by his father and brother through Malayalam thriller film Thira scripted by his cousin, Rakesh Mantodi. The movie was inspired from the book, ‘The Road of Lost Innocence: The True Story of a Cambodian Heroine’ by Somaly Mam. The movie is the first among the trilogy series directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Dhyan played the lead hero Naveen whose younger sister got kidnapped in Mumbai streets for illegal human trafficking.
