Devan Ekambaram Biography 
Devan Ekambaram is an Indian-American playback singer, actor and a Film composer. He is shortly known by the name, Devan. He started his music career as a playback singer of Tamil movies and later moved to other south Indian languages. Till now, he has contributed more than 500 songs to music lovers as a playback singer. His debut song – Oh Maria of the movie Kathalar Thinam was a huge hit.
He was born in a Christmas day in Freehold Township, New Jersey. His higher school studies were done at the Freehold Township High School, New Jersey. Later he studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. His musical journey started in the year 1999 when he got an unexpected call from none other A. R. Rahman’s assistant. He debut playback singing through the song – Oh Maria of Kathalar Dinam of Rahman’s music. The song was a huge break to his singing career. His second song, "Ore Nyabagam" from Minnale was also a huge hit. He got opportunity to work with another top music director of the industry, Harris Jayaraj. Thus he established as a good singer of te industry and got more song offers. "Anbil Avan" from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa composed by A. R. Rahman is another top song of Devan as a playback singer.
"Nahna na Na" of Biryani, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja was an instant hit and viral over net. Devan has also done music direction for many private albums and sung for them. Devan has also done bit roles in a few Telugu movies. Parthiban Kanavu is his debut film followed by Unnale Unnale and Jayam Kondaan in supporting roles.
