Dayanidhi Maran Biography 
Dayanidhi Maran is a politician and a businessman. He was born to Murasoli Maran and Mallika Maran on 12th May 1966 in Kumbakonam District in Thanjavur. He is selected from Chennai Central Constituency to the 15th Lok Sabha of India. He is the minister of Textiles in the Union Cabinet. Earlier he was the Minister of Communications and Information Technology.
He is the grand nephew of M.Karunanidhi, president of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. His elder brother is Kalanidhi Maran who founded the Sun Network. His sister is Dr. Anbukkarasi. He married Priya Dayanidhi Maran on 26th August 1994 and has a daughter and a son.
Dayanidhi Maran did his schooling in Don Bosco school, Egmore, Chennai and has got his graduation in economics. He has been elected twice as the member of the parliament. Being an amateur radio operator, he has his own HAM radio. In the parliament election he got 62% of the total votes polled and got a massive victory. He was there as a Minister for Communications and Information Technology on May 2004 and he were away from ministry for sometimes and he was appointed as Minister of Textiles in 2009.
Dayanidhi Maran is one of the millionaires of India. Reducing the mobile and landline rates drastically is one of his major achievements. He was involved in Tehelka controversy. Also he is accused by CBI for misusing 323 telephone connections when he was in the office as Telecom Minister and this caused a huge loss to Indian Government.
He is also caught up in Aircel/Maxis Communications deal. He supported Karunanidhi’s younger son Stalin and wrote in Dinakaran that 70% people like him and only 2% like his elder brother Azhagiri. So the supporters of Azhagiri burnt down the Dinakaran office at Madurai that took three lives and many injuries. This led him to resign from his post of Union Minister.
