D. Imman Biography 
D. Imman is a music director who is concentrated most on Tamil cinema. He is also a singer, conductor, and orchestrator of film music. As a music director, his best works include – Kumki, Myna and Thamizhan. He received Filmfare Award and Vijay Award for Best Music Director in 2012 for Kumki – Story of friendship between man and elephant. He received nomination at SIIMA Awards as well. Mynaa is another successful project which won nomination at Vijay Film awards in the year 2010. He has composed for more than 25 movies till now. His upcoming projects include - Sigaram Thodu, Pandia nadu, Jagajala Pujabala Thenaliraman, Jilla, Yennamo Yedho, Ennathan Pesuvatho, Peralai and Therodum Veedhiyile.
Imman was born on 24 January 1983 in Chennai as the son of J. David Kirubakkara Dass. His full name is Immanuel. He started playing piano at a very early age and did his schooling at Don Bosco School, Egmore and later at Pachaiyappa's College. He completed post graduation at University of Madras. He started his career with jingles and television serials and final to movies. In a short career span of about 12 years, he has made his own distinct mark in Kollywood. As a music director, his first big break was Thamizhan, released in the year 2001. It was followed by Whistle, Thaka thimi thaa, Aanai, ABCD, Sena, Giri and Chinna. In 2003, he did background score for Hindi movie – Khwahish. His first successful film as a background scorer was Priyadarshan’s Garam Masala, released in the year 2005.
Actresses, Priyanka Chopra and Meena have done playback singing his movie – Thamizhan. Vijay, Silambarasan and Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwarya has done playback singing for his movie – Whistle. All songs of Whistle were instant hits, particularly Azhakiya Asura. With the success of Whistle his career reached a stage where his name began to be counted among the leading youth music directors of present.
