Chitrashi Rawat Biography

Chitrashi Rawat is an Indian hockey player who debut big screen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in hockey movie, Chak de India! She starred as Komal Chautala, a member of the Indian women's national hockey team, in the movie released in the year 2007. Later she got offers from Bollywood and appeared in movies like Luck, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, Fashion and Yeh Dooriyan in supporting roles. She has also participated in many television shows as a host and participant. She has hosted television show, Sabse Favorite Kaun and has appeared as a contestant in Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao and Comedy circus – Season 2. She has also appeared in popular detective series of Sony Television - as Sub-Inspector Jwalamukhi Chautala.

 

Chitra had craze to hockey since childhood. Born in Raipur of Uttarakhand on November 29, 1989 she started playing hockey during her childhood days. She attended the audition at Jabalpur where she was picked for the hockey team of Chak de India. She received Star Screen Award as most promising actor in supporting role in Chak de. For the same role, she received nominations at Stardust Award, Zee Cine Award as well as Apsara awards. Among the 16 girls the role of Chitra was most impressive and she was short and young among all. Later she appeared in critically acclaimed movies like Fashion and Luck, in character roles.

 

Rawat is a former student of the Guru Nanak Academy. Chitrashi regularly represents the Uttarakhand hockey team in the national championships. She is studying at St Andrew FYBMM pursuing her bachelor's degree in mass media. Currently she hosts Star Gold's Sabse Favourite Kaun. She has campaigned for Minute Maid pulpy orange, aside her Chak de co-stars - Vidya Malvade and Sagarika Ghatge.
