Cheteshwar Pujara Biography

Cheteshwar Pujara is an Indian cricket player who is participating in international cricket matches. He is a right handed batsman and plays for Saurashtra team in domestic cricket and for Royal Challengers Team in IPL. He is affectionately called as run machine as he has achieved great successes in short period of time.

Pujara was born on 25th January 1988 in Rajkot in Gujarat. His full name is Cheteshwar Arvind Pujaraand is nicknamed as Chintu . His father’s name is Arvind Pujara and he was a former Ranchi cricket player. Cheteshwar lost his mother when he was a young boy but got good encouragement from his father which made him to get a place in the Indian cricket team. He is engaged to his old friend Pooja Rasikbhai Pabari in November 2012

He made his test debut on 9th October 2010 against Australia. He replaced Yuvaraj Singh in the match. In that match he took the order of number three which was of Rahul Dravid formerly. It worked well for him and he was able to show his full batting skills during that series.

In the first three IPL sessions, he played for Kolkata Knight Riders and later in 2011 he went to Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, he could not contribute much in the IPL season four as he met with a bad knee injury during the match against Kochi Tuskers Kerala and had to be out of the team for nearly a year and returned in form only at the end of the 2011.

His first Test century in international match was achieved on 23rd August 2012 against New Zealand. On 16th November 2012, he created a sensation by registering his first double century in the test match against England at Ahmedabad which is the highest score in his career with 206 runs. He has achieved this within just 10 days of his engagement.

As he had quoted himself once, though the demise of his mother, the bypass surgery of his father and his frequent injuries were the major hurdles on his way obstructing his progress, he had worked hard to overcome them all and prove his talents to the world.
